Midlands’ golf club launches £500,000 padel facility

·

The Mount Golf & Country Club has continued its ambitious transformation into one of the Midlands’ leading leisure destinations, announcing significant investment across its golf, wellness, fitness, and social facilities as part of a major ongoing development programme.

The club has made a strong start to 2026 with over £150,000 invested into drainage technology across key greens, aimed at dramatically improving year-round course playability and overall golfing standards. Alongside this, a further £200,000 has been invested into fully refurbished changing facilities, including the addition of brand-new saunas in both the male and female changing rooms.

This week also marks the official launch of The Padel Club at The Mount – a brand-new premium four-court padel facility featuring high-end Spanish-made panoramic courts in a beautiful countryside setting.

With more than £500,000 invested into the new padel club, The Mount is positioning itself as far more than just a sports venue, instead creating a modern social and leisure hub designed around sport, fitness, hospitality, and community.

The launch forms part of a much wider vision for the site, with plans now progressing for a £3 million technology-led driving range and practice facility, further cementing The Mount’s ambitions to become one of the region’s standout leisure destinations.

Scott Bernard, director of The Mount Golf & Country Club, said: “Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, but for us this is about far more than just courts. We wanted to create a true social destination where people can come together to play, train, relax, network, and enjoy themselves both on and off the court.

With our sports bar, saunas, gym, adventure golf, golf course, outdoor terraces, and premium facilities all in one location, we believe we’re creating something completely unique for Wolverhampton. The response so far has been incredible, and this is only the beginning of what we have planned for the club.”

The Mount Golf & Country Club has invested heavily into its wider facilities over the last 24 months, with ongoing improvements across the golf course, drainage systems, irrigation, machinery, hospitality offering, gym, adventure golf, and leisure facilities.

The club says the latest investments reflect its long-term commitment to raising standards, creating a year-round destination venue, and delivering premium experiences for members, guests, and the local community.
