Burhill Group reports record revenues and rounds played

·

Burhill Group Limited (BGL) has reported a record year for its golf division in 2025, with golf venue EBITDA rising 11% to £12.7m.

The result builds on the division’s previous record-setting performance in 2024 and was supported by record playing volumes across BGL’s golf venues around the country. It reflects sustained demand for golf and the strength of the service and product within the Group’s core business.

BGL continues to invest in its golf division, with a focus on the quality of its venues, the customer experience and opportunities to welcome more people into the game. The division’s performance gives the Group a strong platform from which to pursue further growth.

BGL’s golf venues hosted a record 729,611 rounds in 2025, up 9% on the previous year, while membership rose 7% to a record 9,715. Subscription revenue also reached a new high of £9.09m, up 9%, alongside double-digit growth in green fee revenue, which increased 14% to £6.82m, and driving range ball revenue, up 10% to £5.48m. The results show growth across every major part of the golf business.

Simon Thompson, BGL’s CEO, said: “Golf has delivered another excellent year for BGL. Record playing volumes and an 11% increase in venue EBITDA show the strength of our clubs and the work our teams are doing to give people a great experience every time they visit. We want to build on that momentum by continuing to invest in our venues and finding more ways for people to enjoy golf.”

The Group has also completed a comprehensive review of its indoor leisure portfolio to support its long-term commercial sustainability. The review will help BGL focus capital and resources on the opportunities with the strongest prospects for growth, while continuing the momentum of its golf division.

Thompson added: “The review of our wider portfolio has given us greater clarity about where to focus time and investment. Golf remains central to BGL’s plans, and the performance we’ve seen this year gives us confidence its potential for continued growth.”

Led by Group CEO Simon Thompson, BGL is focused on building on the golf division’s record performance. Stephen Brown, who became Group COO earlier this year, is bringing more than 35 years of leisure and hospitality experience to the division as BGL continues to invest in its existing clubs and explore opportunities to expand its golf portfolio.

Across the wider business, Group venue EBITDA was £15.8m in 2025.
