Premier Turfing has acquired the staff, operational assets, specialist machinery and ongoing projects of John Greasley, forming a new dedicated golf construction business, Premier Golf.
For more than four decades, John Greasley has been a recognised name in golf course construction across the UK, working on championship course remodelling, complex drainage installations and new course builds at some of the country’s most prestigious clubs. That legacy now continues under the Premier Golf banner, with the same experienced team, specialist knowledge and machinery that customers have relied on for generations.
The two businesses are far from strangers. Premier Turfing has worked alongside John Greasley as a trusted subcontractor on golf course construction, drainage and renovation projects throughout the UK for the past 20 years, building a relationship rooted in shared values and quality workmanship.
Premier Turfing was founded more than 20 years ago by father-and-son team Robert and Ian Mawer, and has grown into one of the UK’s leading specialist sports turf contractors, delivering construction, drainage, irrigation, renovation and maintenance work for Premier League football clubs, leading rugby venues, championship golf courses, racecourses, schools, universities and local authorities.
Charlie Greasley is moving on to new business ventures outside the sports turf and golf industries alongside his wife and family.

The company’s message to existing customers is that it remains “business as usual,” with the same trusted team and machinery now backed by additional investment and resources.
