Duddingston Golf Club appoints David MacMullen as its new head professional

Duddingston Golf Club in the Lothians has appointed David MacMullen as its new head professional, and he will work alongside assistant professional Katie Graham.

The new team will lead on a golf operation designed to enhance the member and visitor experience and support the next generation of golfers.

Set within the Duke of Abercorn’s deer park at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, the historic course, originally designed by Willie Park Jr. and later refined by James Braid, continues to evolve. The arrival of MacMullen marks a significant milestone in the club’s future, with plans to introduce industry leading technology to the swing studio and a revamped retail offering featuring premium brands.

David MacMullen brings over 20 years of international expertise to Duddingston. His career began at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club before he moved into leadership roles at prestigious venues including JW Marriott Mirage City in Cairo, St. Sofia Golf Club in Bulgaria where he served as national coach, and director of golf positions at leading Egyptian clubs the Nicklaus-designed New Giza and Greg Norman-designed Allegria. Most recently, David served as director of golf at Spey Valley in Aviemore and head professional at Shotts Golf Club. This wealth of experience provides a global perspective MacMullen is eager to apply to the historic setting of Duddingston.

Supporting David is Katie Graham, a plus-handicap golfer and member of Royal Troon, who brings a high level of competitive experience and technical knowledge to the professional shop.
