Cabot has unveiled the first images of Old Petty, its eagerly awaited new golf course at Cabot Highlands in Scotland, following the successful completion of seeding and establishment of the turf.

Designed by renowned architect Tom Doak in collaboration with associate Clyde Johnson, Old Petty is nestled beside the historic Old Petty Church and boasts breathtaking views of the 400-year-old Castle Stuart from 13 of its 18 holes. The course is set to open for preview play for two months from August 1.

Doak’s layout embraces the natural drama of the Highland landscape. Players can expect a memorable journey that begins and ends near the clubhouse, with standout features such as a scenic short par-three 17th, sweeping coastal views at the 10th, and a return to the Moray Firth on the 14th hole.

During the preview period, Old Petty will be available as a walking-only experience, with tee times offered alongside bookings for the neighbouring Castle Stuart course. Preview green fees are £190, while the Castle Stuart course remains priced at £330, offering a unique chance to play both courses during the 2025 summer season.

“We are thrilled to share this first look at Old Petty,” said Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and co-founder of Cabot. “From the beginning, our goal was to honour the land’s rich history while creating a golf course that is both inspiring and unforgettable. Old Petty does just that — it’s a course that will surprise and challenge players while celebrating the spirit of the Highlands.”

Cabot Highlands reopened for the 2025 season in March, with tee times now available throughout the year on Castle Stuart and during the preview window for Old Petty. Bookings can be made at www.cabothighlands.com.
