Middle East golf club is offering women-only caddies

·

A golf club in UAE emirate Ajman has launched a pioneering all-female caddie initiative that it hopes will redefine personalised golf service in the region.

Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club is running a pilot programme featuring an initial group of eight caddies who will work across Al Zorah’s acclaimed Nicklaus Design championship course, newly opened clubhouse and practice facilities.

All the caddies are female and have extensive experience at another top-tier golf club. The eight have begun a carefully planned training and onboarding programme. Led by head of golf Austin Cahill and golf course supervisor Paul Botes, the new recruits are already learning the intricacies of the par-72 layout.

Phil Henderson, general manager of Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club, said: “By offering guests the chance to play with experienced caddies who know the nuances of Nicklaus Design’s wonderful course inside out, we’re enhancing our on-course service and introducing a fresh, meaningful dynamic to the game.

“Like everything we do here, the goal behind this initiative is to deliver excellence, diversify the player journey and open the door for more people to enjoy golf in a supportive and innovative environment.”

The caddie initiative is the latest new investment to be made by Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club – developed by Al Zorah Development Company, a joint venture between the Government of Ajman and Solidere International – following the opening of an eagerly anticipated new clubhouse earlier in the spring.

The luxurious building features three stunning dining options, a fitness centre, two outdoor swimming pools and retail and changing facilities – as well as a rooftop bar offering panoramic views across one of the most naturally beautiful parts of the region.
