Stoke Park has opened The Penn, a new signature restaurant created by two-Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers and the team behind Restaurant Story, as part of a wider overhaul of its dining at the historic Buckinghamshire estate.
Named after John Penn, the 48-cover restaurant serves an à la carte menu inspired by British culinary history, seasonality and provenance, built on classical French technique. A private dining room for eight people offers a setting for corporate entertaining, celebrations and special occasions.

For golfers, the restaurant adds another reason to stay on after a round. Stoke Park welcomes visitors seven days a week, and The Penn and its private dining room can form part of a corporate golf day or a meal after play.

It is the first major opening in a new collection of dining venues across the estate. The Piano Bar, The Terrace and Glasshouse, and The Tea Room will offer more informal food and drink, and The Clubhouse, which opened in spring for golf visitors, serves pub classics alongside Indian cuisine. The collection has been created by Sellers, chef patron of Restaurant Story in London, with chefs Dom Robinson and Tom Phillips and HiStory Hospitality, the company behind Restaurant Story.

Stoke Park’s 18-hole championship course dates from 1908 and was designed by Harry Colt. One of the most historic parkland courses in southern England, it was the setting for the golf match between James Bond and Auric Goldfinger in the 1964 film Goldfinger. MacKenzie and Ebert renovated the course in 2021, improving drainage, bunkering and green surfaces while respecting Colt’s original design. Its location, 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport and 30 minutes from central London, makes it well placed for golf days, corporate entertaining and leisure visits.

Stuart Collier, director of golf at Stoke Park, said: “The opening of The Penn is another really exciting step for Stoke Park and, importantly, for our golf visitors. We’re already seeing strong interest in the course from golfers, golf days and corporate groups, and being able to offer such a high-quality dining experience alongside the golf makes the whole visit feel more complete.

“Whether you’re here for a round with friends, entertaining clients or hosting a golf day, The Penn gives people another reason to stay a little longer.”
Stoke Park says further details of its hotel, spa, wellness programme and racquet sports will be announced in due course.
