Ardencote Hotel and Spa in Warwickshire, which includes an 18-hole golf course, has been acquired by Barons Eden, a luxury hotel and spa group.
This is the group’s first purchase since it secured a major investment from private equity firm Alchemy Partners earlier this year.
The venue includes a Victorian manor house originally built in 1862, set within 83 acres of landscaped gardens as well as the golf course. It also includes three restaurants and bars, a luxury spa, a leisure club including an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, three tennis courts, two squash courts, nine treatment rooms and a gym, a hotel and extensive wedding and conference space.
The property has been owned by the Huckerby family for a number of years.

Edward Law, CEO, Barons Eden, commented: “We are delighted to have acquired Ardencote Manor, which represents our first acquisition since Alchemy’s investment into Barons Eden.
Ardencote Manor is a wonderful hotel and we intend to further develop the facilities and features in the hotel and spa via a significant investment into the property to deliver a high quality Barons Eden style spa resort offering.”
Henry Jackson, partner at Knight Frank, who handled the sale, added: “It has been a pleasure to facilitate the sale of this exquisite property on behalf of the Huckerby family who have owned and managed the asset for many years. It is an exceptional hotel which offers its buyer a unique opportunity to enhance its offering as one of the most popular luxury hotels in Warwickshire.”
Dale Huckerby, owner of Ardencote, said: “We have enjoyed the many years we have spent building Ardencote into a high quality, luxury hotel and thank everyone who has stayed or visited for their continued support.”
