A golf club in Essex has become the second venue in England in just the last month to close – and will be converted into housing.
Dunton Hill Golf Centre has announced that it has closed amid plans by Brentwood Borough Council to build 3,700 homes and four schools in Dunton Hills.
The golf course offered a picturesque 18-hole, par-71 course that spanned over 6,205 yards.

Established in 1992, the course featured tree-lined fairways, well-maintained greens, and strategically placed water hazards, providing a fair yet enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Several golf clubs across the UK have been under pressure to sell to housing developers in recent years.
Just a few days ago Sapey Golf Club in Herefordshire confirmed it will be converted into a private family home with guest facilities.
In the last few months Helensburgh Golf Club has been placed up for sale as a residential ‘development opportunity’, Gatley Golf Course has been told it will be converted into 278 new homes and Balmoral Golf Club agreed to sell its land for housing and relocate.
