Recruitment opportunity: Assistant general manager at Eagle

Industry leader Eagle is currently recruiting for the position of assistant general manager. The job involves supporting the general manager and the overall operation and function of the Eagle business.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Managing and organising the daily operations of Eagle.

Managing and supporting various departments – the digital design studio, print, office / administration and sales.

Managing the team, including handling staff issues and authorising / recording annual leave and sick leave.

Interviewing, hiring and training of new employees.

Supporting existing employees in terms of training and development.

Evaluating employee performance and providing guidance as needed.

Leading, assisting and supporting colleagues to ensure tasks and projects are successfully completed.

Ensuring that employees follow company policies and health and safety regulations and requirements to create and maintain a safe working environment.

Help to develop and implement business strategies to achieve goals and targets.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Ensuring work and projects are completed within the scope, time and budget.

Ensuring a high and consistent standard of customer service to all of our clients.

Identify any opportunities for improvement and recommend potential solutions or practices that may help improve productivity or service.

Initiating and driving marketing efforts and promotions and informing clients and employees with regards to marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Applying knowledge of the golf industry and an awareness of the emerging products, trends and developments to ensure that Eagle maintains its position as a leading global company within golf.

Excellent listening skills to effectively lead a team and to understand the needs and expectations of our clients.

Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances and deliver innovative solutions when issues arise.

Excellent customer service skills and service delivery to ensure that customer expectations are realised, and client loyalty is retained.

Solid IT skills and knowledge of all relevant software programs.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Sound financial skills and business acumen.

Excellent time management and strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks and to meet deadlines.

The ability to delegate tasks and projects to colleagues to ensure the optimal performance of the team. 

Background and Qualifications:

Proven experience in a management or leadership role, preferably within a similar industry.

Knowledge of the best practices and trends of the golf industry.

Familiarity with financial principles and practices.

Understanding of human resources policies and procedures.

Demonstrate an ability to work well in a team and collaborate with cross-functional groups / colleagues.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Strong decision-making skills.

High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Flexibility to work irregular hours or travel when required.

Tertiary or college qualifications would be preferred and any other certifications such as First Aid / CPR.
